Motor disorder of the nervous system in which some muscles remain permanently contracted. This contraction causes stiffness and shortening of the muscles and interferes with their different movements and functions: ambulation, manipulation, balance, speech, swallowing, etc. It is usually caused by damage to the areas of the brain or spinal cord that control voluntary muscles.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
